Active Volunteers

Would you like to do more to help the Heritage Centre?

Yes? Then now is the time to join as an active volunteer; as a charity we not only depend on the revenue and donations of our visitors but equally we would not be able to function without our growing band of our active volunteers, who together make the Heritage Centre possible.

So what benefits does becoming an active volunteer have? By joining the Crewe Heritage Centre volunteers you will be able to visit the Heritage Centre during the open season at a special concession rate of £2 per individual and £5 per family (except for 3rd Party organised events e.g.. Auctions, Toy Fairs, Beer Festival etc.) You will also receive twice per year a copy of the Heritage Centre magazine “The Eagle” which gives details of events and activities taking place both in the main season and during the closed season. If you feel you would like to become actively involved as a working volunteer, then you will be made more than welcome by our existing team. This will entitle you to come on site during the months when we are normally closed to the general public. You will also be able to help with restoration and maintenance projects that take place over the closed season. During our main season opening period you will have the opportunity to assist in various tasks in areas such as the Cafe, Shop, Model and Miniature Railways or as a general site steward. In all instances training will be given by our existing staff and you will be made to feel welcome as part of our team. We welcome younger members as working volunteers but the minimum age for volunteers is 14 and all children 16 and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent or responsible adult.

How do I become a  volunteer? It is really simple to join, all you need to do is fill in the form below.

Membership costs £10 per year for Individuals, £5 for Seniors and £15 for a Family. Once we have received and processed your completed application form you will receive your membership card and a copy of the latest issue of “The Eagle” magazine. A member of the team will be in touch to arrange an induction at the earliest opportunity.

We look forward to welcoming you to our growing list of active volunteers.
