Exeter West Signal Box

A truly unique attraction, the Exeter West Signal Box was originally located at the west end of Exeter St. Davids. It was constructed in 1913 by the Great Western Railway company (GWR). In 1985 after it was decommissioned by British Rail, where upon volunteers of the Exeter West Group carefully dismantled the box with the intention of rebuilding it on a new site, initially at Bristol, but when this fell through they eventually moved to Crewe and re-erected the box in its current location. The box is now maintained and operated by members of the Exeter West Group. Click Here to visit the Exeter West Signal Box website.
