The Sentinel Shunter was built in 1959 at Rolls-Royce Sentinel Works in Shrewsbury.
It was owned by Associated Portland Cement for its entire industrial service, first at Rotherhithe then Swanscombe in Kent, and finally at Harbury near Leomington Spa until 1992.
It lay derelict at several locations in Kent until purchase by two Heritage Centre members in July 2016 and is undergoing full restoration.
