Follow these signs and embark on a journey through history with us.

Traveling By Car

+ M6 Northbound - Junction 16

  • When exiting the sliproad take the first exit onto the A500 (West) towards Crewe.
  • At the next roundabout take the second exit and continue on the A500 going straight across the next roundabout and across the overpass.
  • At the next roundabout take the third exit and continue past the public house and petrol station.
  • Take the first exit at the next roundabout and continue down Jack Mills Way.
  • Continue across the next roundabout and under the railway bridge on to Gresty Road towards the Alexandra Stadium.
  • Continue through the traffic lights and under the railway bridge at the bottom of the hill.
  • Once you have passed under the bridge take the third exit on the roundabout towards TESCO.
  • At the final roundabout take the third exit, you have now reached the Heritage Centre.

+ M6 Southbound - Junction 17

  • When exiting the slip-road turn right at the traffic lights and go straight across the roundabout along the A534 towards Sandbach.
  • Continue along the A534 until you reach the roundabout next to Waitrose supermarket, take the first exit towards Crewe and Nantwich.
  • Continue along the A534 until you get to the roundabout at Wheelock, take the second exit.
  • You will eventually reach Crewe Green roundabout, here you should take the third exit towards Crewe Business Park.
  • Continue straight over the next roundabout and through the traffic lights towards Crewe Railway Station.
  • At the next roundabout take the fourth exit onto Macon Way, continuing past McDonalds.
  • At the mini-roundabout take the first exit towards the Grand Junction Retail Park.
  • Continue past the Retail Park taking the second exit at the next roundabout.
  • Go over the railway bridge and take the first exit at the next roundabout onto Vernon Way.
  • Continue along Vernon Way towards TESCO taking the first exit at the next roundabout, you have now reached the Crewe Heritage Centre.

+ North Wales and Chester

  • From the junction where the A55 meets the A51 head east along Tarvin Road towards Littleton.
  • At the roundabout take the third exit and continue along the A51 towards Tarporley.
  • At the next roundabout take the third exit towards Nantwich.
  • Continue along this road until you pass Snugburys Ice Cream Farm, shortly after this you will reach a cross roads where you should turn left continuing on the A51.
  • Once you have passed Reaseheath College take the second exit at the Roundabout towards Crewe.
  • You will eventually see the Sacred Orchard pub on your left, at the roundabout take the third exit.
  • At the end of this road take the first exit at the roundabout and continue to follow this road for approximately 4.5km towards Crewe.
  • You will eventually reach a set of traffic lights just before Crewe Railway Station, turn left onto Mill Street.
  • Continue along Mill Street and under the railway bridge at the bottom of the hill.
  • Once you have passed under the bridge take the third exit on the roundabout towards TESCO.
  • At the final roundabout take the third exit, you have now reached the Heritage Centre.
 

Traveling By Train

Our nearest National Rail station is Crewe which is a short 1km walk from the Heritage Centre.

+ Walking Directions From Crewe Railway Station

  • Leave the station via the Nantwich Road exit and turn left towards the Royal Hotel.
  • Cross at the pedestrian crossing and continue past the Royal Hotel until you get to the ‘Cheshire Inn’ public house.
  • Turn right and walk down Mill Street and Comtinue past Costa Coffee and Lidl.
  • Once under the railway bridge turn right at the roundabout and continue along Vernon Way until you see our sign.
 

Traveling By Bus

Our nearest Bus Station is Crewe which is a short 1km walk from the Heritage Centre. For more information about local bus travel you can usr the Traveline website or call 0871 200 22 33 to plan your bus journey to the Museum.

+ Walking Directions From Crewe Bus Station

  • Once you have departed the bus, turn right and walk towards the Post Box.
  • At the Post Box turn right again and head towards the main road.
  • Once you have reached the street turn left and head towards Barclays Bank.
  • Once you have reached the bank turn right onto Market Street and continue over the bridge until you reach a set of traffic lights.
  • At the lights turn left into Oak Street walking towards the roundabout.
  • Go straight over the roundabout towards TESCO.
  • Once you have passed TESCO you will be able to see our sign.
 

Traveling By Bicycle

The Heritage Centre is located on route 451 (Nantwich-Crewe) of the national cycle network, we have dedicated cycle parking for up to four bikes at the entrance to the museum.
