How much does it cost for Entrance? Or is it free as it’s not on the advertisements!

Alex Hunter Cameron White you lads coming?

Yep - same question - entrance fee info would be useful? Or a list of people exhibiting there

I would have loved to have a stall at this event, but the website states that the Heritage Centre is still closed.

Due to operational commitments by various TOCs resulting in a lack of available locomotives, we have reluctantly had to cancel the planned Diesel Gala weekend for the start of the 2019 season. We will however be open from April 6th when all our regular attractions will be available.

We welcome back the newly extended ‘45C Westlands’ OO Model Railway layout that will be on display for the first three weekends in April.

Happy Burns Night!
Born on 25 January 1759 in Alloway, Scotland, the famous poet Robert Burns became a great source of inspiration to the founders of both liberalism and socialism, and a cultural symbol not only in Scotland but all over the world.

Did you know that the Crewe Heritage Centre is home to the Crewe built electric locomotive 87 035 that was named Robert Burns in April 1978, a name that it still holds to this day.

Would you like to learn more about our Class 87 locomotive? Then why not head over to the BREL Class 87 '87035' page for a behind the scenes look at some of the restoration work currently going on.

I'd just like to say thank you to Crewe Heritage Centre for the open day last weekend (Dec 8-9/12/18). Alexander, Alice & I enjoyed the steam train ride and exploring the full size locomotives & rolling stock. You've got a really great set up. All the best for 2019. We'll be seeing you again soon!

At precisely 11am, the guards whistle sounded in the hall of Crewe Heritage Centre, the air raid siren rang out at Crewe locomotive works and we all stood still to remember the fallen.

Graham Wood, grandson of Private W. Wood V.C is seen in the cab of 5551, Gareth Atkinson who serves in the 1st Battalion of the Mercian Regiment is proudly stood with Simon Weston.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who came to see ‘The Unknown Warrior’ this weekend, it is everyone’s national memorial locomotive. Thank you for your support.

***This Weekend***

We’re ready for the doors to open at Crewe Heritage Centre at 10am tomorrow morning!

For the first time ever, ‘The Unknown Warrior’ is now wearing an LMS smokebox number plate and she has been dressed to mark the centenary of the armistice recreating a tradition that was done in steam days with the original memorial engine named ‘Patriot’.

Her boiler is in, buffers are polished and the new crest is in place ready for unveiling tomorrow by our Patron, Simon Weston CBE.

All the details of this special weekend of events that includes a heritage bus service to the excellent Alsager Model Railway Show can be found on our website at www.lms-patriot.org.uk/

We look forward to welcoming you.

We have good news!!

It’s been a long day at Crewe but we’re thrilled to say the boiler has now been trial fitted into 5551’s frames after a super slick effort by our good friends at Heritage Boiler Steam Services Ltd and our volunteers.

Don’t forget you can exclusively come and view her for yourself this weekend at Crewe Heritage Centre! More details can be found here on our website www.lms-patriot.org.uk/

84 years since the original 5551 was outshopped from Crewe works... and a Patriot is back in town!

5551 'The Unknown Warrior' is safely tucked up inside the hall at Crewe Heritage Centre where a hive of activity is set to begin to prepare her for the events being held across the weekend of the 10th/11th November. Have you put the dates in your diary to come and see her for the first time with her boiler trial fitted into the frames?

The event will be opening at 10am on both days and entry will be by donation:

▶️ 5551 'The Unknown Warrior' on display to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice.

▶️ Heritage bus service to take you to the Alsager Model Railway Show.

▶️ Simon Weston CBE, Patron of the Project will be unveiling our new crest on the Saturday afternoon.

▶️ Class 66 No. 66418 ‘Patriot’ on display courtesy of Freightliner UK/Genesee & Wyoming Inc.

We look forward to giving you a warm welcome.

A NEW WORLD RECORD!

October 16, 12018 - Crewe, Cheshire, UK - 84 Ice Cream Vans set a new world record for the world's largest parade.

Multi coloured vans, musical chimes - the most amazing sight!

Ice Cream Men and Women travelled from all over the UK, Southern Ireland and Belgium to Wychwood Park to take part in the attempt.

Guinness World Records were in attendance too to observe the attempt and adjudge whether it met their stringent rules.

Thankfully it did! Well done everyone!

All these armchair enthusiasts. You joke and moan saying it's unfinished but are you a member of their group physically donating or helping?

Think of the last time an original Patriot was in Crewe 1962 and being for the chop. Who would believe this sight happening in Oct 2018??

where's the rest of it?! 😂

Iconic ???? ..... unfinished would be more appropriate!

Is it being put togeva at crewe

When you say 'see this iconic locomotive'............

Do you recognise this piece of cinema history? This modified British Rail class 20 was featured in the 1995 classic Bond film GoldenEye. Much of the early preparation work was done here at the Crewe Heritage Centre before being moved to Pinewood Studios for the finishing touches.

The locomotive can be seen here having returned to the Heritage Centre after filming was completed.

Derek Meddings with the miniature version.

Sean Bean isn't dying in this scene.

The railway scenes during GoldenEye were shot at both British Sugar Factory, Fletton and Nene Valley Railway.

Does it still exist? They should display it at Bond in Motion!

this class20188 was James bond move www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCMzeP_LnUM

Sweet

Where is this and will this ever be sent to any other spots to be on display?

Blummin eck ..... We have a man at the centre! The names Porter, Brian John Porter 370 007 licensed to tilt.

Always loved this.the train of a villian.

remember when it came back with instructions in russian on the instrument panel

How many times has the same info got to be put on here ?? Read the comments......only takes a minute. 💀💀💀💀

20188 i believe?

Goldeneye is that one Bond movie which I’ve yet to see, didn’t know about this!

A WTF is that moment, traveling along the old A10 through Wadesmill when I overtook it. When it was on its way to NVR and I was going up to Cambridge

Is it there still wouldnt mind seeing it

I remember one of the coaches still been at the heritage centre 4 or 5 years after the film was made.

A battered Lima model and some plasticard would do it...

Think my grandad got to help and drive it when in crewe raymond scholes xx

Where is 20188 now?

I’ve seen the film but never clocked on that it was a class 20, but now you mention it its obvious lol!

But did you know it was filmed on the Nene valley in peterborough

Weirdly reminds me of the GWR's attempts to streamline a King loco!

blimey I do remember that wow

So is it there now
