It isn’t too late to own your very own piece of the Cross Keys, the wonderful folks at Cross Keys Salvage are auctioning a few small items from the pub. With proceeds going to the Mayors charity. www.facebook.com/crosskeyssalvage/posts/180661119248378

It is time we came clean, this was indeed an April Fools joke. The coins them selves were originally available during the Crewe Heritage Festival in 1987, and are believed to have been made from a metal that was removed from Crewe Locomotive Works.

And look like Oreos!

I bet those Romans soon legged it back to Nantwich when they saw the state of Crewe.

We need to share this great find with the world.

Huh I mean what have the Romans ever done for us.....😂😂😂

A museum?? Was it the ‘Crewe Chariot Heritage Centre’?

Why they dry and mud all wet?? Really funny. Happy Easter. Lol

I do actually have one of these, can you give me any more info on them please?

Worst April fools of the day 😂😂😂

Oreos

I expect to see the rest of that packet in the office on Tuesday!!

Well preserved oreo biscuits. Lol

I think you'll find it was taken from the top of St Mary's

My house on flag Lane 😁

I love stuff like this...we live in a Victorian house and I always wonder about the people who have lived here over the years

Lucy NightFurious

Do we know where this was taken from?

And what did we do as a town to celebrate this? Nothing as far as im aware.

New for 2018!
The Crewe Heritage Centre has long been home to our stunning Advanced Passenger Train Prototype (APT-P), we are very pleased to announce the arrival of the only other surviving APT-P vehicle. Power Car (49006) has joined us after completing the journey from Coventry Electric Traction Museum, the Power Car will be a stand alone exhibit allowing visitors to walk through the heart of the train.

This is the first time that all the surviving APT-P vehicles have been together since the early 1990’s, do you remember visiting the Heritage Centre when the full APT-P occupied the land now home to a large supermarket?

Once again we’d like to thank everyone who contributed to the campaign, it wouldn’t have been possible without you.

I would rather see it running on main line , never got to see it running, as I didn't live near wcml at the time, so was limited to when I could be at Preston

I do remember them being together. Looks it might need a lick of paint

Are there any plans to raise enough money to put APT-P under permanent cover (when not restored and running on the mainline that is)?

Fantastic news, but I can't help feeling it would be best put in the middle of the train?

Great news for Crewe, heritage centre is a great place, and people there do great job just wish it could rival places like NRM York a bit more or taking over what’s left of Crewe works before it all goes

Very good to see it yesterday

Very pleased it's all back together

Andrew Bray looking forward to going next Saturday 👍

I’m coming on Saturday with a friend. Can’t wait! First visit. Could anyone help me understand which ATP resides at Crewe? I’m not particularly knowledgable about railways so bear with me. My understanding is that none of the first ATP (ATP-E) still exists anywhere, however, Crewe Heritage Centre have assembled a collection of rolling stock from the surviving ATP-P train sets? So my understanding is that Crewe have virtually all of the surviving ATP rolling stock, all of which is ATP-P rolling stock, plus there are a couple of other surviving ATP-P units in Coventry (I saw the crowdfunded to bring one of those up to Crewe too). Is that right?

Ellie Palmer - you should show this to your brother... 🙂

We’ve just had confirmation from the gang over on the APT P UK Class 370. They have been working hard campaigning to get money together to move the APT Power Car from the closed Coventry Railway Museum to Crewe Heritage Centre.
They have confirmed that tonight the Crowdfunder page has hit its target.
Thankyou to every single person who has dontated towards the campaign and a huge thankyou to Railcam for their continued Support.
The fundraiser is still open and donations are still welcomed as they will go towards the restoration of the vehicle.
